The bezel cups do not become brittle during firing using her method of kiln firing at 800C for an hour. There is no need to depletion gild or to pickle after firing. Any oxidisation can be easily removed by sanding or using the 3M 80 or 400 grit Radial Bristle Discs in a Dremel or similar rotary tool. Using a patina like Liver of Sulphur is another effective and easy way to disguise any oxidisation.
